History

The DUVEAU family has been in the wine business since the French Revolution. But it was really only from the 1880s that the DUVEAU Domain started to grow thanks to the vision and energy of one woman, Jeanne Helene Pasquier (1839-1893). Shortly after the death of her husband, killed during the war with Germany in 1870, Jeanne Helen bought the Domaine des Roches Neuves.

Her great grand son, Denis Duveau (1915-1992) went on to run the vineyard, until the outbreak of World War II.
Denis left for the front, and the vineyard was looked after by the women of the family. It was not until 1950 that the Domaine des Roches Neuves really developed. The next descendant, also called Denis (b. 1948) graduated from the School of Oenology in Bordeaux in 1981, and went back to work at the family domain.

He looked after the bottling and sales of the entire production - 120,000 bottles of wine for 20 ha.
In 1991 the vineyard froze completely during the night of April 20th.
Denis decided to sell the Domaine des Roches Neuves and left for Chile with his wife and two children.
He worked as a consultant in the great wineries of Chile, Uruguay and Argentina.

He created the Domain Duveau in Chile near CURICO in the Mataquito Valley.

His son Grégoire now heads the Chilean vineyard. Denis returned to France in 2000.

Today, he continues to advise and monitor vineyards, is a wine consultant and commercialises Bordeaux, Languedoc wines and Armagnac.

The CVM company is based in Saumur, in the Loire Valley - France, and is a specialist in the wine trade.
